Antje Rux - Soprano

Antje RuxAntje Rux studied recorder and singing with Franziska Gottwald at the Musikhochschule Franz Liszt in Weimar. After graduating in recorder, she studied Baroque singing with Roberta Invernizzi at the Centro di Musica Antica Pietà dei Turchini in Neaples, followed by master-classes with René Jacobs and Maria Cristina Kiehr. She completed her studies attending classes in Baroque gesture by Margit Legler and in acting at the Michael Tschechow Studio in Berlin.

In Summer 2011 she was invited to the Accademia del Belcanto Rodolfo Celletti, where she studied a. o. with Daniela Dessì and Fabio Luisi and took part into the final concert at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Italy. Antje is continuing her singing training under the guidance of Renata Parussel in Würzburg.
In 2009 Antje was awarded with the prize for the best interpretation at the Internationales Musiktheaterfestival Oper Oder Spree and in 2010 she was finalist in the 8th international Baroque singing competition Francesco Provenzale in Neaples.

As soloist she sung Spirit and Second Witch in Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas in Weimar and Amore in Monteverdi’s L´incoronazione di Poppea in Bremen. She was guest of the Beberseefestival (Berlin), Rheinland-Pfalz Musiksommer (Mainz), Il Montesardo (Italy), Festiwal Muzyki Kamien (Poland). A recital with Bach/Schemelli’s Lieder was live broadcasted by the RBB Kulturradio.

Her concert repertoire ranges from Early to Romantic music: from Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s masterpieces to Mozart’s Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Paulus and Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël.As member of the Vocalconsort Berlin she took part in October 2010 into Pascal Dusapin’s Passion at the Théatre des Champs Élysées in Paris under the stage direction of Sasha Waltz and the musical direction of Franck Ollu; and in May 2011 into a staged production of Haydn’s Jahreszeiten at the O.T. Theatre in Rotterdam with the B’Rock orchestra conducted by Christopher Moulds. She collaborated with Concerto Italiano under the baton of Rinaldo Alessandrini too.

Among her recent engagements Paisiello’s Le finte contesse in Taranto, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater under the conduction of Titus Engel in Switzerland, and the opera Sardanapalus by Christian Ludwig Boxberg at the Ekhof Festival in the Baroque Theatre of Gotha.
